Founded by Hong Kong’s influential Stan Group, and powered by our patented change-driving entrepreneurial attitude: INFINITUDE, The STILE Initiative is an investment- backed accelerator programme, which focuses on balancing and integrating business development and investment. Through a collaborative project which strives to combine the drive of entrepreneurs with the full force of Stan Group, The STILE Initiative aims to create sustainable and mutually beneficial business growth and investment by helping start-ups to build traction, achieve market expansion, and establish partnerships in Asia.

We are looking for teams with the followings:

  • Should have at least TWO co-founders
  • Should have revenue generating products in the market
  • Should have customer track records
  • Seed to Pre Series-A round
What is the commitment required from start-ups?2020-01-02T22:05:18+00:00

We require all teams to be present for the entire programme. Teams will be required to attend training sessions, seminars, weekly meeting with their PMs, problem-solving roundtables, networking events, and deliver results.

Can I apply if I am already in another incubation/ accelerator programme?2020-01-02T22:07:14+00:00

Yes. Please note that we expect at least one member of your team have to be in Hong Kong for the duration of the programme. You are also expected to attend at least 80% or above the training session and weekly meet up in order to graduate from the programme.

What is the visa process?2019-12-27T20:21:09+00:00

The STILE Initiative will do its best to process and fund visas for participants, but if there are any extraordinary visa requirements, the start-up needs to process and fund the visa themselves. It is the team’s responsibility to pay the difference.

Do I need to have a business registration in HK?2019-12-27T20:22:52+00:00

You should have an official company incorporation and business registration upon application. All participants must be over 18 years of age. If you are an overseas registered company, our team will assist you with the business registration.

Do I need to be concerned with my intellectual property?2019-12-27T20:23:56+00:00

We do not share your start-up information with anyone outside the staff of The STILE Initiative, assigned mentors and the founding members NDAs.

PROGRAMME

Why do I need to attend the training programmes?2020-01-02T22:08:13+00:00

Our training programmes are designed to enhance the “to do skills” for start-ups, and open up different perspectives to foster an effective strategy and execution of planning. All the speakers and trainers are experienced experts who have experience as senior executives in corporates, and have worked in or with start-ups, so they are able to morph and adapt the business skills necessary to suit, and support start-up operations.

Do we need to move to Hong Kong to join the accelerator and stay for the entire duration of the programme?2020-01-02T22:08:53+00:00

Yes, at least one founding member of the team will have to be in Hong Kong for the duration of the programme, but other employees of your start-ups are not required to relocate. However, if you need to make a trip for your business, please let us know and we can try and work around it.

Am I guaranteed a commercial contract if I join the programme?2020-01-02T22:09:42+00:00

Commercial contracts are not guaranteed and are subject to the individual business units or business partners’ decisions. All we guarantee is the opportunity to be matched with businesses and/or their business partners, and our programme PMs will assist you on following up.

Yes, you must attend at least 80% of the training sessions, business matching events, and PM meetings while hitting the KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) throughout the programme.

How does The STILE Initiative measure success?2020-01-02T22:11:33+00:00

The STILE Initiative measures success by measuring your growth during and after the programme. The main measures of success are:

  • Successfully securing at least one commercial contract during the programme
  • Demonstrating growth month by month
  • Executing any secured contracts successfully on any secured contracts
  • Formulate feasible strategies and follow through in the execution of them, plus hitting your KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
  • Optional success** have successfully gained investors during the programme

The STILE Initiative will issue several press releases throughout the programme. The level of media activity each team is exposed to will depend greatly upon their commitment to the programme, and the traction that they create while participating in the programme. There will also be opportunities to participate in major start-up events.

Throughout the programme, you get access to meet with our experienced mentors and key members of corporate networks which will help you to accelerate your business, and springboard it from local to global.

Our investment is up to HKD 80 Million in funding. The investment is provided via a S.A.F.E. note. If you are selected by our investment committee, we will make a cash investment in return to exchange your equity. The investment amount is based on a case by case basis.

Our investment offer is a customized document based on a S.A.F.E. Note where the contracts are modified to better fit The STILE Initiative and its investment approach.

AFTER PROGRAMME

As it is not a guaranteed investment, Teams who successfully graduate the accelerator programme by hitting the graduation thresholds will be considered for investment. The STILE reserves the first right to invest for 12 months consecutively from the programme graduation day.

Once you’ve graduated, you’ll become part of the Alumni, which provides you with a continued access to the network and our ecosystem.
